Severne Mast Apex SDM

IN A NUTSHELL:

The Severne APEX mast is a standard SDM diameter mast, with a lightweight construction and approximately 90% carbon fiber content. It has a lightweight construction and a carbon fiber content of approximately 90%. It is designed for Freeride and Freerace sails.

The Severne APEX mat has been chosen for the IQFOIL Olympic pack for its performance and durability.

It features a fiberglass outer layer that makes it less susceptible to impact damage. The Toray prepreg T800 carbon fiber construction makes it a lightweight pole: the 460 version weighs only 1.85 kg.

APEX MAST ID:

The APEX features Severne's SPINLOCK technology that prevents the boom from sliding down the mast, thanks to a different texture. The APEX cone has smaller diameter midsections with greater wall thickness for increased reliability.

Severne offers a range of masts based on weight instead of the carbon percentage that is noted on the label. Weight is a much more real value simply because a certain amount of carbon is required to achieve the weight. Weight, combined with durability, says a lot about the quality of your mast.

CONSTRUCTION:

The two main characteristics of carbon fiber are its excellent strength and light weight.

Severne masts are made exclusively of Toray Pre-Preg Carbon ®. Torayprepreg® is a sheet made by horizontally aligning multiple Torayca® high performance carbon fiber wires.

MANUFACTURING:

Ben Severne works with Italica, world leader in the production of high-end masts since 1994, with a unique know-how and a high-end production tool allowing the development of new products and new technologies. The masts are baked in an Autocalve oven.
