SEVERNE FOIL GLIDE 2020
''Inspired by the Hyper Glide foil competition sail, the freeride version FoilGlide displays a human, smooth behaviour, close to the common foilers. Ultra light for a cambered sail, the FoilGlide with its preformed trough offers an innate flight access and a frank support in the air. The FoilGlide appeals to the less adventurous with its stability, reassuring appearance and small size.

IN BRIEF :
The practice of foiling presents specificities and new constraints on the rigs.
The FoilGlide is not only a foil sail with 'Foil' written on it... It has been specially designed by the Severne team based on the lessons learned from racing sails developed for foiling with the aim of offering performance and accessibility.
The Foil Glide comes with RDM cambers and runs on RDM/SDM mast.
IDENTITY CARD :
ULTRA LIGHT WEIGHT:
This is one of the most important characteristics for the Foil. Severne sails are the lightest on the market thanks to the use of a set of more efficient materials, resulting in better control and faster take-off.
The Foil Glide is a very easy sail to pump, to take off you only need to make a few movements: soft and light. The rig does not need much rigidity as its load is reduced once in flight.
With the foil, one of the new issues is the drag generated by the sail, in particular by the leech which creates weight on the back of the rig in flight. The Foil's leech is much tighter than on most camber sails, to limit the effects of this drag and the overall pitching of the rig.
The camber keeps the profile of the sail stable and minimizes any unwanted movement.
A shorter boom gives a more direct feel, and better control of the rig. A shorter boom length will also allow you to easily adjust your position.
After the success of SEVERNE's racing sail, the HyperGlide, it was only logical to see a more user-friendly freeride version, the FoilGlide, in the range.
The Foil Glide shares much of the technology and ideology of its big sister.
The high aspect ratio design of the rig allows for greater stability, efficiency and control.
Combined with a tighter leech, leverage is increased, allowing you to foil with a smaller sail in lighter winds.
With only 4 battens and an ultra-light construction, the physical weight of these sails is significantly less than other sails with only 3.5 kilos for the 6M.
